  • Madison, Wisconsin - Real Estate

Madison is the county seat of Dane County, and capital of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the city has a population of 208,054 (366,950 including metro suburbs).

The city’s real estate market has grown considerably in the past few years, with the median single family dwelling now selling for $224,600, or slightly above the national average.

This trend of growing property prices has made it increasingly difficult for entry level buyers to get in on the Madison real estate market. It is still possible, however, for many lower income homebuyers to buy a home in Madison, if they are willing to scout out motivated sellers and foreclosed property listings in the area.
