  • Salt Lake City, Utah - Real Estate

Salt Lake City is both the capital and most populous city in the U.S. state of Utah, as well as the county seat of Salt Lake County in that state. The city itself is home to about 178,605 people, while its greater metropolitan area has a population of 1,005,232, according to a 2003 estimate.

Real estate prices in the area have increased considerably in recent years, with the median single family dwelling now costing $182,300, compared to $148,000 in 2003.

This has made the market consistently harder to crack, especially for first time homebuyers and low income families. It is still possible, however, to find some very good deals in the area by scouting out local foreclosures and highly motivated sellers.
